“I want my stage to be an altar, so all the praise goes to the Father.”

about

Nick Akin is a Christian music artist, singer-songwriter, and worship leader from Atlanta, Georgia with a passion for sharing the love of Jesus through music. He has been involved in music ministry from an early age, gaining real-life ministry experience traveling with his family, The Akins. During this time, Nick wrote many chart-topping Gospel songs, including “What If God Says No” and the #1 song, “I Want My Stage To Be An Altar”. This song became an anthem of his family’s ministry and continues to be the heart of Nick’s solo music ministry today.

Nick went on to form Contemporary Christian / Worship band, Brothers Abiding, with his brother, Eli. Nick and Eli recorded an album of 10 original songs and in the midst of a global pandemic, they continued to tour and share the Gospel through outdoor concert events called “Abide Outside”. God not only used this ministry to change lives, but also to prepare Nick for the future that would become a solo music ministry.

Nick has just released his solo debut album of 10 original songs, and is excited about what God has in store for the future.

nick’s family

Nick is a devoted husband and father who loves his wife and children. He desires to lead his family and raise his children to love Jesus.

Nick married his wife, Julie, in 2008. Even through the struggle of four miscarriages, God blessed them with their first two children, Adalyn and Jude.

In 2017, God led Nick and Julie to adopt. Through a series of circumstances that only God could have put together and much prayer, they were led to India and eventually to their daughter, Tanvi. She has Caudal Regression Syndrome, and has undergone four surgeries since coming home in 2019. In spite of all she has been through, you will never meet a child that exudes more joy and happiness than Tanvi.

family events

Nick’s family is involved with Nick in ministry. They travel with him on many occasions, leading special family events and concerts. Nick does a mix of familiar and original songs. Julie and the kids also join Nick on stage for a few songs. This opens the door for Nick and Julie to share testimony of what God has done in their family, and the miracle He has done in Tanvi’s life. It also gives Nick a powerful opportunity to share how the Gospel relates to adoption at the end. If you would be interested in an event like this, reach out to Nick at nickakinmusic@gmail.com.

Nick has seen the Gospel play out on an intimate level through Tanvi. He loves to share the testimony of how she was adopted into his family, and relate the story to the Gospel- how God loved us before we knew Him, traveling a great distance from Heaven to Earth, paying the cost up front so that we could become His children through faith in what Jesus accomplished.

After bringing Tanvi home from India, Nick and Julie were surprised and blessed with another baby boy, Milo.
